FRANCE GRANDE SYNTHE 2AUG17 - Iraqi Kurd Marding Sokolom, 30, and his daughter Aya, 3 stand on front of their damaged tent in the unofficial Jungle II camp near Grande Synthe, Dunkirk, northern France.
He claims to have relatives living in the UK and has been at the camp for nearly one month. They have travelled for 6 months to get here, including a 6-day boat ride across the Mediterranean with 100 fellow refugees - a journey during which all thought they would drown.
