It's 48 monitors display high resolution video footage of CCTV and wireless surveillance cameras covering popular and strategic spots across the West End of central London...This state of the art surveillance system operated by the City of Westminster is linked with CCTV centres operated by the Metropolitan Police and City Police, resulting in a total of more than 3000 digital cameras surveillancing central London. Its main purpose is to provide a deterrent to crime and anti-social behaviour as well as aid in crowd control and emergency planning.
